Liberty Park Fairgrounds Revitalization
Liberty Park is a multi-phased development to revitalize the Memphis Fairgrounds campus. Malasri Engineering’s involvement began during the due diligence and planning phase in 2018.
The current phase includes setting up infrastructure for a dynamic 18-acre, mixed-use development, which will include a public plaza, a park, family entertainment center, office space, retail, dining, two hotels, and apartments. Additionally, a robust combination of on-site activations, and transit options will service the energetic pace of Liberty Park.
Malasri Engineering is assisting Fairgrounds Partners and the Division of Housing and Community Development with utility planning, coordination, and cost estimation for infrastructure upgrades for mixed-use development and Memphis Sports + Events Center (SMEC), a 227,000 sq. ft. sports and events facility. SMEC will include indoor basketball and volleyball hardcourts, and will be adaptable for other sports like wrestling, gymnastics, and cheerleading, as well as convocation and commencement events. The complex will also include a café, a concessions area and outdoor turf fields.
